With the government support available right now for eligible property owners, it is a great time to install a tank for a reduced price. For Example, in Brisbane a 5,000 Litre system with an internal connection could attract a rebate of up to $2650

Federal Government Rebates for Solar Hot Water

Eligible Systems:

Full details of eligibility are provided in the programme guidelines

To be eligible for the rebate, a hot water system must

                replace an existing electric storage hot water system

                be a solar or heat pump hot water system that is eligible for at least    

                20 Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) at the time and place of installation

                be purchased and installed on, or after 18 July 2007

                be verified by a Registered Agent

                be installed by a suitably qualified person (for example an electrician or plumber)

                have a warranty of at least five years.

Eligible Households

                The dwelling where the hot water system is installed must be a principal place of             residence.

                The applicant’s taxable family income must have been less than $100,000.00 in the most              recent tax year lodged with the Australian Taxation Office.

THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT PHOTOVOLTAIC REBATE PROGRAMME

(Solar Power)

Rebates available up to $8000($8/W up to 1kW) as of 15th May 2008 this rebate is now means tested.  Check details on website below.

REBATES FOR GREYWATER

Rebates are available for below ground greywater systems from the Queensland Waterwise Scheme.

The rebate for a below-ground system is only available for greywater re-use systems that are approved by the applicable local council. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure all local council approvals for the greywater system are obtained prior to applying for the rebate

A Greensource installed Nubian Oasis system attracts a rebate of $500.00.
